Q: You are a new and small company. What if you went out of business?

A: If Kong Audio ever ceases to exist, we promise we will deliver a non-C/R protected version of the software to replace the previous ones. So all our customers will be able to keep on using the Kong Audio instruments they have invested time and money in.

Q: May I authorize my Chinee series on two different PCs at the same time?

A: No, the license is for one seat only. If you need additional licenses, as a regged user, you are entitled to get a 2nd license with a 50% discount. Please contact us if you need extra license.

Q: Where to find my User ID? Where are the back panels of the plugins?

A: It's a common practice of most VST plugins to have a backpanel where version number can be found, and some operations can be undertaken. Our our plugins can be switched to the back panel by clicking at at the top title areas, as shown in the picture below, then press the "register" button to see the registration dialogue, where you will find your User ID. Copy and paste the User ID and send it to us via email.

Or, you can simply run the Regtool and you will see your User ID on it too.

Q: I Cannot Register my plugins! It keeps showing up as "unregistered"!

A: First, check if you have follow the instruction comes with the authorization keys. Make sure the keys are entered correctly. Then, disable your antivirus/Internet security software before proceed with the authorization, especially if the Regtools reports failure to importing the keyfile.

If you still encounter any problem with the registration process, contact us directly for further support on the matter. However, proior to contact us, please check again to verify that the User ID you sent us was correct. In some rare cases, if you log into Windows with non-admin status, yet run your host sequencer with admin privilege, you will need to register with the admin privilege again for the authorization to work. You should run the RegTool by right-clicking at it and select "run as admin", then import the keyfile (if you have it - it's provided to users with more than 5 plugins) again.

Always use the latest Regtool downloaded from the website. Don't use your old backed up Regtool.

Q: Why can't I see some of the Chinee plugins in my host?

A: For Cubase/Nuendo users:
Please go to Device - Plugin Information, check the plugins that wasn't selected, then exit and restart Cubase/Nuendo. You may need to disable your antivirus/Internet security software too.

Q: What about Windows 7 compability?!

A: Our plugin will work fine in Windows 7. But please check the host compatibility chart before purchase.

Host Windows 32 Windows 64 Version
Standalone YES YES
Cubase/Nuendo YES YES Cubase 64-bit v5.53 and above
Sonar YES jbridge X86: v6.0 and above
Finale 2011 YES YES
Overture YES YES
FL Studio YES YES
Orion YES jbridge
Ableton Live NO NO
Reaper YES YES

At this point in time, QIN engine itself is 32-bit only. But this does not prevent it from being used in 64-bit host, if the said host contains a compatible bit-bridge.

Q: Why does the RegTool (Registration Tool) say that the keyfile import is failed?

A: That means you didn't install all the instruments that match the keyfile. It does not prevent the installed ones from being authorized.
